Examples, patterns, and predictions
Artificial intelligence includes systems that classify images, recognize speech, and generate text. Many of these systems learn patterns from data. Their outputs depend on the examples used in training and can contain errors.
A first activity
Draw several circles and triangles. Group them by shape, then describe the rules used to sort them. Add an incomplete or unusual shape and discuss which group fits. This gives children a concrete way to explore classification and ambiguous examples.

Exploring generative AI
Generative AI produces content such as text and images from patterns learned during training. A prompt is the instruction given to a tool. With an adult, compare a generated explanation with a trusted reference and identify any errors. Confident but inaccurate outputs are often called AI hallucinations. This activity builds AI literacy through checking evidence.
